Smithtown Orthodontics is at 200 E Main St., in the Colonial Building on Route 25, just east of Smithtown Town Hall and a few doors from the Village Commons. Have a look around before your first visit.
What to expect when you arrive
There is off-street parking at the building, and the entrance is at ground level. Check in at reception when you come in; appointments here are scheduled rather than stacked, so you should not be waiting long.
The practice is a single-doctor specialty office, which means it is smaller and quieter than a multi-chair group practice. Dr. Shank sees his own patients, and the same team is at the front desk year after year.
Digital scanning replaced putty impressions here some time ago, so nothing about a records appointment involves a tray of material and a gag reflex.
