If you know, you know — Dr. Shank is amazing!! Before my daughter got braces two years ago, we went to several consultations. Every orthodontist suggested removing teeth, using a palate expander, and then braces. Then we met Dr. Shank. He was so patient and confident in allowing her adult teeth to come in naturally before starting treatment. Two years later — almost to the date — her braces are off, and we never had to remove teeth or use a palate expander. He is absolutely amazing. Moms, be patient and listen to Dr. Shank’s advice! Sometimes the best plan is the one that takes a little patience.

We cannot say enough good things about Dr. Shank and his office staff at Smithtown Orthodontics. Dr. Shank is thorough, professional and delivers a great smile! He evaluated our daughter for orthodontics while she was in middle school and gave us a tentative date to come back to see him for further evaluation. When our daughter was ready, his office staff met with us to discuss a payment plan that was right for us and the cost was surprisingly reasonable. Our daughter presented with some complications, such as spacing issues as well as an impacted tooth that went sideways. She had to have oral surgery so that Dr. Shank could work to bring the tooth down into place. In the end, when the braces were taken off, our daughter had a picture-perfect smile! She is so incredibly happy with her new smile. We are very pleased with the entire experience from beginning to end. Any questions or concerns that we had along the way was met with kindness and detailed explanations. We were walked through the entire process feeling as if we knew what was going on every step of the way. Thank you Dr. Shank and your wonderful office for a wonderful experience overall!
